One of my personal heroes passed away suddenly over Easter - Joe Armstrong - a co inventor of the erlang language. He was a teacher, enthusiastic beyond belief, a musician and a deep thinker who searched for simplicity & solving the right problems first.

Hallo Mike.
Hallo Robert.
Goodbye Joe.

@dch I haven't met Joe, but it was a pleasure to read his book "Programming Erlang". I think his enthusiasm rubbed off on many people in the Erlang community. It was quite evident in my conversations with Robert Virdig and his talks when he was in India. Joe was a great ambassador or even better, for Erlang, the same way that SPJ, Guido, Larry are for Haskell, Python and Perl, respectively. I wish I had met him :-(

May he remain happy, wherever he is.
