I think its more a case of rural areas having the complete opposite space-people problem to cities. Thus car by default makes more sense.

@chiefgyk3d To me it seems like the biggest issue would be Threads users federating, then facebook threatening defederation for any instances that, say don't meet their moderation policy, or are not advertiser friendly, etc..
Now you have instance owners in a bind, where they have either capitulate to facebook demands, or risk potentially losing users to threads.
Personally i'm against defederation unless facebook decides to not play nice in the sandbox. As I see they left the gate open to their walled garden, thus made it easier for people to home off of threads. Such that if they close the gate, they risk users jumping ship
