I am an Associate Prof. at Harvard Medical School, and am interested in figuring out how the brain works 🧠 . In particular, how do its neural dynamics implement the probabilistic computations required for efficient behavior? We ask this question from the theoretical perspective πŸ’» , using tools from machine learning and physics, and collaborate with experimentalists 🐭 πŸ™ˆ πŸ‘€ to test the arising theories.

In the past I have worked a lot on decision-making - both perceptual and value-based - normative models for the speed-accuracy trade-off, and how this relates to decision confidence and attention. Currently, we are looking into probabilistic reasoning about more structured objects, like hierarchies, and at efficient navigation in light of uncertain sensory information.

Hello beautiful people! I'm a computational neuroscientist working on sensory-motor control. Lately, my lab has been working on recurrent neural networks and spiking nets (all still in the pipeline) and I'm here to exchange and learn about these and other topics.

Dear fellow scientists, I know it's been said many times before but please please make a Google Scholar page and make it public? It makes life so much easier when going through tens and tens of unknown names (like I'm doing right now to help select symposia for a conference): one can find your latest papers, your most cited papers, etc. And if you have some principled objection to Scholar or to their stock-market-style citation counter, I get it and that's fine, but at least do orcid.org?
