I have a random question about #spreadsheets (#GoogleSheets specifically) and VLOOKUP: Why would one want to look up a value from a range that shifts? The default for VLOOKUP formulas if you apply it to multiple rows is that in each row, the range for the formula shifts a row also. But this often isn't what I want (well, it's *never* what I want). I want to look for a value in a static range.
Why would the default behavior be to shift the range with every row? I am missing something.
@jezlyn I am afraid I can't answer that one.. If I don't want to look up I use the $B$6 type thing, but if you know Google Sheets... How do I make a partial trendline on a scatter plot? I can do it in Excel but my school is a Google school and I have to teach my kids how to use it.
Kind of like this;
I cannot seem to work it out
