Will software engineering/development/coding be fundamentally easier and more accessible in the future?
Will it need to be? (or will we have a completely different abstraction layer?)

Barring that, I don't really see it becoming easier. Each time we get it easier, we make even more complex applications, making it even more complex. Remember when the web was new, and everything was done with HTML?
We are coming from the 'no code' experiment. The next one is AI. Will it become reliable enough to use it that way?
