Why are YouTubers so obsessed with Zelda/DK/Mario timelines? My dude, Nintendo's job is to make a fun game. In a franchise, that means reusing familiar characters and themes. That's it.

Nothing says there has to be logical continuity across games, especially for the ones light in story-telling

@jgg that's fair I guess. It's more when they start yelling at Nintendo for not providing a coherent timeline explanation, as if that's something they're even remotely obligated to do

I totally agree.

If Bond fans can cope with continuity issues, Mario fans should have no trouble at all.

On Zelda games it makes a bit more sense, because they are story heavy, but, came on. Games are not a story-driven medium as novels, comics or films. Gaming should be about gaming, everything else is secondary.
