I have to read a bunch of interviews with Reflect Orbital people for fact-checking, and they're just dripping with the worst kind of ignorant hubris. We are saviours! No one else could have ever possibly come up with our ideas! What do you mean there are problems we haven't considered? You're just not a complete genius like me, there are no problems!

AAAUUUGGGHHH TECHBROS ARE THE WORST

Oh NO there are so many companies looking to do the same awful "sunlight as a service" crap as Reflect Orbital: factoriesinspace.com/reflect-o

Probably all headed by techbros who are just as insufferably arrogant and won't listen to the many, many reasons why this is a bad idea.

Batteries? Anyone?! Hellooooo that's a lot easier/safer/less environmentally damaging than launching giant mirrors into orbit and blasting everything with sunlight! AARGH I need to go rage-scream in the hay field again.

@sundogplanets

Totally agree.

Even if the tech and the physics where there, what's the point of working so hard to harness in space something we are barely harnessing at sea level?

Fancy light shows are not nearly as demanded to make sense either.

As if SpaceX sky shit were not enough.

@jgg Kessler syndrome is getting more expensive every day...
