@peter Europe is moving faster on deamericanizing than I expected, but the French and Canadians (not yet part of the EU ;-) seem to be leading the way because they’re the most pissed off

The French have been very focused on self reliance since WWII.
They are the only ones in the EU with their own nuclear weapons or their own combat aircraft tech, for example.
It's not a surprise they lead on this.
Everybody should be moving much, much faster.
