@thor I watched it while I was 14-15 yo and I often wondered about that myself. We're talking about a time when anime came to us heavily censored, but this was allowed on public TV.

More than weird, it was anarchistic and out of control (at least until Nickelodeon took over). It went against everything (the army, organised religion, politicians, toy commercials...). There was even an episode where a superhero burned the Bill of Rights just because he was feeling a bit chilly. It was awesome.

Compared to that, B&B were pretty lame.

I wish it came back, but after John K. was cancelled a few years ago, I don't have much hope.
