@smxi You can look also into @Liberapay. It's sort of the Fediverse's choice for this kind of thing.
About "Open", some ideas:
- "Open" as a tool for you to expose your finances transparently
- "Open" as a software that is MIT licensed since day one
😎
@opencollective @josemanuel @Liberapay I don't want you following me, you guys are the worst nonsense I've ever seen. please unfollow me, I will never deal with your organzation again, and am deleting my account as soon as the money you are wasting my time releasing is in my bank account.
@opencollective @josemanuel @Liberapay but oddly not open at all when it comes to releasing funds... or the processes used to add the red tape of someone in your organization having any control of the funds at all, re approval. I'd soend less time on empty platitudes and more on fixing what's wrong in your process. And your website, which is one of the least open and clear things I've ever seen.
I dislike this abuse of the term 'open' intensely. Symptomatic of the obvious corporate focus.
Huge thumbs up to @Liberapay - their website was very well executed, the only major weakness is lack of links to @Codeberg repos natively. That needs to be fixed.
@josemanuel @Liberapay thanks, in fact, a guy on my IRC just noted that too. I'm getting my donations out of #OpenCollective because they are a serious ripoff, and I have to apologize to everyone who donated through them since 15-25% of those funds went to OC, not #inxi as intended.
I will go with the choice of the fediverse, thanks.
I was fooled by the 'open' in opencollective, and didn't investigate them first. Plus I guy recommended them, but I think he was also fooled by the 'open'.
