This is a request for help regarding Fediverse programming. Please reply with your ideas for different types of Fediverse, or Fediverse server, "achievements" or awards, or badges/credentials, that would be suitable in a decentralized context.

Examples:

* Donator badge
* Most blocked instance user award, 2022
* Oldest user on instance

This is a brainstorm so don't reject ideas for being stupid just reply to this post with them.

Please share.
@Moon
* Code Contributor - contributed OSS code to any fedi project or supporting project
* One/Two/X Year badge by age of account
* Pillar of the Community - has made substatial contributions to the server time-wise (like sim)
@kaia so far the ones I came up with are:

VIP
Earlybird registrant (n earliest signups)
Donator
@Moon
distinctions can be very motivating for the people who receive them. difficulties arise when there are other people who do not get such an award, but think they have contributed equally or more. if you seek to prevent this by giving out more awards, the meaning of individual awards will be watered down.

For example Earlybird Registrant: those who miss the cutoff date by just a little bit might feel bad.

@kaia Earlybird is easy to sort out: those who were around before the migration to Pleroma. That's a very clear cutoff date.

I may be wrong, but I think @Moon's idea for these badges is to make them automatable (that is, not subjective or dependent on popularity). That would disqualify the Pillar of the Community award, even though sim definitely deserves it.

On the other hand, there could be some kind of annual event (online or offline) where the community could give those kinds of badges away.

@josemanuel @kaia no they would be issued by a site admin for the site
