Job complaining

Sometimes, it feels like my job is just a "we will make you feel miserable and then give you money" loop.

Nothing can be done "on time" because all the deadlines are so tight and they're all decided before anyone even knows what it takes to build. So everything is always "late", so every discussion with management is preparing to apologize for being late again.

I wish I had data for how often this were the case here, because I have a hard time believing that it's not incredibly frequent. And if it's not then holy shit maybe I am not cut out for this place.

I plan on leaving, but I wanted to try to stay for a few more years just to pad the resume and get a bit more of a financial buffer in the bank. But some days are just harder than others I suppose.

Job complaining

@BitBun Same thing happens to me at work. When the deadline-setters come to ask for something, they usually say stuff like: “Come on. It's just a couple of ifs.” (Actual quote.) That somehow leads me to think that they don't know how long our job takes.

Also, I never apologise. I always tell them in advance that their deadlines are bullshit and that changing the requirements would delay the project accordingly, because that's another thing that always happens.
