@ocean @Epsi@mk.absturztau.be You mean the band, right?
@ocean Yes, because they didn't invent grunge, and even if they had done so, the 90s were much more than that. Musically, it was Björk, Radiohead, Britpop, post-punk, post-rock... For a little while, alternative became mainstream. But there were also pretty good movies and videoclips. It was an explosion of creativity and aesthetics. Everything became progressively uglier since the 00s, IMHO.
@helene As long as it is your favourite song, it's ok. That will keep Vecna away.
@kaia OK doomer.
@Moon I use a modified version of feh myself. I changed it so I could use it as a manga/comics reader. I'm pretty happy with it.
@kingu_platypus_gidora@octodon.social Paper maps had one crucial advantage over Google Maps and the like, and it's that you were not forced to focus on the correct route between A and B, so you could find interesting spots and take your time visiting them while travelling.
And about the pizza delivery issue, each pizzeria was assigned a neighbourhood or a set of streets for delivery, and riders were supposed to be familiar with them. In the rare cases when they didn't know the place, they could easily look it up on a paper street map. It's not like they had to cover the entire city, or anything. And even if they weren't able to find the address, they coud call the customer back and ask for clarification.
@mametsuko Impressive! I guess you're one of the cool guys now.
@gmate8 If all you want is to fav/comment on videos, then you can already do that from your Mastodon account; but, in case you really, _really_ need to login, there is also this one:

NB: I haven't tried it.

@amolith I believe Mastodon has had that functionality for years, but only in timelines, where it makes sense. Not in profiles.
@norm To me, ugo seems less clear precisely because of that, instead of just saying: “These are the new permissions” that you get with octal. In that sense, ugo reminds me of a diff file. I can''t get the whole picture from a diff.
It's also more verbose and you have to keep more things in mind (e.g., in your example you have to make a conscious parsing effort for each part of the expression. “This permission is for the group part. The minus sign means you're removing permissions, and these are the write and execute ones.”
@norm To me, ugo syntax was always the cryptic one.
@urusan Still a better backstory than what they gave to Nick Fury in Captain Marvel.
I am, without a doubt, the most interesting person I know.
