@Moon I don't get 21st century humour. I don't get the 21st century at all.
@changeling You can follow accounts on #PeerTube from Mastodon (or any other ActivityPub application). Just search for their handle and follow them _locally_, so to speak. Their videos will appear in your timeline, too, and you will be able to like them and comment. It's actually easier that way.
Here's are a couple of examples:
Try subscribing to them from here as you would with anybody else.
@kaia I have only watched the very ending, sadly. I could not say whether it was good or not, because, knowing the short story the movie's based on, it all depends on how the plot is played out.
@kaiaskinoklub I was actually thinking about this movie yesterday on the bus home. I wonder why. I haven't even seen it (in its entirety).
@lowqualityfacts Well, what can we do? It's very hard to find anybody's birth certificate if they don't even have a surname.
@volkerdi No Modula-2 in the latest gcc in -current? I was hoping it would be included.
What about libgccjit? I do have a SlackBuild for that if you need it. Emacs users would surely appreciate it. I know I would.
Not a very satisfying answer, to be honest. “Well, is it illegal? Absolutely! And we've known about it for a while now. Have we done anything at all about it, even if it's just suing Qualcomm on behalf of our userbase or, at the very least, warning them before they buy from us? Why would we do that? Anyway, we're still weighing our options, but we probably won't do shit.”
Come, @gael, be real.
@esheep I've been meaning to ask you for a while — are you a princess?
@josemanuel Here's a #JonathanCook article I am about to read. I'm sure it'll give me some insight.
@lydiaconwell Well, he's certainly a conservative, so his show always had that angle (his views on immigration were especially worrying), but, at the same time, he gave a platform to many progressive voices and championed issues that, on a sane timeline, would be championed by the left. (On one of his last shows he denounced the enormous influence of Big Pharma on the US media, for instance. He also recently expressed his remorse at having cheered for the Iraq war, and he has opposed the proxy war in Ukraine and the US confrontation with China.)
Smartphones with Qualcomm chipset share private information with... Qualcomm. Even if degoogled. With no user consent (or even notice)

"...in addition to the user-facing operating system (Android, iOS) and the Linux kernel, the smartphone incorporates an additional, low level firmware [which...] operates on the broadband processor (modem) and manages the real-time communication with the cell towers"
And it sends data from your phone, using plain HTTP (!) /via @mhoye
@lydiaconwell Whatever you may think of him, he was the only media personality in the US who repeatedly called for the release of Julian #Assange and for the treatment of whistleblowers as heroes instead of traitors. He also denounced US military spending and endless wars.
Maybe we (I'm talking about the left) should focus on what brings us together instead of on what sets us apart, if we want to get things done.
I am, without a doubt, the most interesting person I know.
