Jobless growth
Softbank invested 30 out of its planned 40 billion dollar investment in OpenAI in 2025.
$30B invested in regular software startups would've created 30,000 software engineer jobs and at least that many sales, marketing, admin etc. jobs for others.
This is one VC's investment in one AI startup in 2025. I don't know the aggregate statistics but this by itself is staggering.
