Besides, Russia started it because it was both convenient for them to remove any potential threat from global unions, western powers and the prior attacks on Russian units and civils. Similar to Poland during WW2, they hit the wasp nest for far too long and now they are paying for it. So if you ever find the need to point at somebody, do it at Ukranian politicians for doing nothing deapite Russian warnings, and it's no wonder the NATO and UN remained inactive and silent for the most part because they didn't want to lose a potential ally or escalate things, looks like they lost on both sides

Because occupied zones have a choice on the matter, right? No, they had breached protocols on countless occasions and what did Ukranian politics do? Nothing. They are far from being innocents, sure the average individual might have not had anything to do with rebel groups but they did a damn fine job provoking Russia, so their government is accomplice by default
