Western public figures who are opposing this war are saying that Putin wants Donbass and Crimea and NATO military bases to stay away from Ukraine. That's it. Keep in mind that this doesn't mean that Ukraine will be isolated from the rest of Europe, it wasn't in the slightest until a week ago. Ukraine has a lot of economic relationships with EU members (as Russia). It was materially possible to improve Ukraine condition without involving the military. Us western europeans were basically friends with russians until yesterday. Lots of our expo went to Russia and Russian culture/authors admired and studied in academic fields. There was a solid base to pacify relationships and "westernize" eastern Europe without involving in any way american military. But it wasn't what NATO warmongers planned for us. The tension raised up when NATO suggested Ukraine entering the transatlantic alliance hence the possibility to put military bases extremely near russian territory. The are already NATO and US bases in Bulgaria and Turkey. There is not a single Russian military base near US territory, keep this in mind.
Every country in the translantic alliance is not sovereign but respond directly to the US empire and their needs. See what happened now. North Italy has 2 military bases with nukes. Few days ago Draghi said we are sending military troops knowing that Putin said that every country who is sending military helps to Ukraine is a Russian enemy. NATO is risking the life of millions of people who live in Northern Italy (me included) just to own Putler. I can be potentially dead at any moment because NATO can't stop expanding. They NEED Donbass and Crimea, they can't leave them to Putler because it's pretty clear by now that they are planning to make Russia a wasteland, a new Iraq/Afghanistan. They do not give a single fuck about liberty and democracy. The only fuck they give is on their oligarchs and exploiting natural resources of the countries they conquer. NATO is not in any way your friend. They are putting us Europeans at risks and they know it. We are their cannon fodders. Their insane propaganda machine has already started an absurd hate campaign on russians, which are getting banned from everything here in Europe. This will lead in genocidal rethoric in probably less then a month (as the yankees did with Iraqis in 2003). This does not stop at russians but at everyone who dares to point out NATO expansionism and noticing how nobody sanctioned US for its endless war crimes. If you read the local news there are countless of people everyday that drop dead in the middle of the roads/pubblic spaces/workplaces and people seems to not bat an eye like it was normal.
