Q for #twittermigration folks --- are you finding that the Mastodon server you joined is really slow? Are there ones that are more responsive? Will this get better over time as the folks running the servers adjust to the new load?

For ex, it took me two tries to publish the toot above (though it looked at first like it went through the first time).

(That one too.) I have an #AIhype debunking thread I just wrote over on twitter, and would move it here, but it would take too long given this interface. 😢

@emilymbender I think it is server dependent, but the messages I have seen said that it should get better as the admins add more hardware to adapt to the new load. I'm on qoto.org which seems zippy. The character limit is 65K so one doesn't need to make threads. I'm not sure if that is good for me or not. To get my posts to fit in Twitter, I used to have to go back and remove all the "I think"s from the starts of my sentences. Now I need to remember to do that all on my own 😅 .
