🇦🇹 ÖBB - can design a good digital process for Interrail reservations (including for 🇮🇹, 🇨🇭 trains)
🇸🇪 Trainplanet - decent digital process for Interrail reservations (including for FR and 🇫🇷-🇪🇸 trains)
🇧🇪 SNCB - decent digital process for Interrail reservations (including for 🇫🇷 trains)

🇪🇺 Interrail.eu - designs a messy process requiring you to have a pass before you can book reservations, it half works

🇫🇷 SNCF - doesn't let you do anything for Interrail online, so you're mean to go to a ticket machine

Also for those asking:

🇩🇪 DB - it’s all easy. There are almost no compulsory reservation trains. But if you want to reserve to guarantee a seat it’s easy online and is €4,50

🇨🇭🇳🇱 🇧🇪 are also all easy for national trains - reservations not needed

@jon I remember very well how Hartmut Mehdorn tried to make reservations mandatory on long-distance trains back in the early 2000's. He was roasted alive by press and public alike because it was deemed a "fundamental right to jump on any train at any time" and the concept was dropped within weeks.

I wonder if Richard Lutz tried the same today, would he fare any better 🤔

@kuroi_tengu pretty sure he would not. And when I met Michael Peterson (Chef Fernverkehr) I asked him - and he was totally against.
