I love the airplane taking off from the car though I'm not quite sure what the point is. Never seen that before!
Also didn't expect this video to be a period piece—I thought it as going to be something new but talking about the old.
I love how basic the explanation is (and needs to be, I guess). It's written like the audience knows nothing. Which makes sense considering 1937.
@levisan comparing this to jet-plane assisted rocket vehicle launches… maybe it was a problem of fuel capacity for take-off or the power output of the plane's engine. It uses the most power during take-off without any external assistance.
