I have always been content with my name. I have always liked how it's not a name where people might assume a nickname is better.

Until today, when I realised that cool people use a nickname in their private lives and their given name in their public lives and now I'm jealous.

@levisan at one point there were way too many people named Brendan in my department at work. I tried to get them to call me 'progo'. It didn't catch.

In the last bi-weekly news meeting my department head prompted me halfway in, "and what was that other thing you said I should amplify, Brendan, just before the meeting?" I actually wasn't sure for 5 seconds whether he was addressing me or not. :^)

@levisan no one calls me 'progo' in face to face or phone situations. Social media handle only.

@progo I can't help but feel like it would be hard to listen for more than one name in group settings…
