When people talk about "listening to the radio," what are they looking for? Ads? Annoying hosts? Unskippable songs? I'm not being facetious, I honestly do not get it.

Stole that question from a friend.

@levisan
wfmu.org/
- no ads
- the DJs mostly aren't annoying
- lots of wonderful weird music you won't hear in public and on mainstream media
- Once I select the channel I don't have to make any other choices about what tracks to play.

Been listening since before I moved near their transmitters.

@progo Aha, very interesting!

It's almost like you've found a radio station that is like one of the streaming services' algo feeds that's perfect for your tastes, but not one of those!

@levisan ha ha -- not perfect. Some of their music doesn't appeal to me. But I like the variety. And I never know what to pick from my local collection, to play.
