microbiology question
@amiloradovsky@functional.cafe What is "life"?
We humans have this notion of "life", but in reality, what we consider to be "alive" is just a hyper-complex highly adaptive system capable of reproduction.
The outer shell of the Wuhan Virus can be disassociated and thusly rendered inert. It is that shell that latches on to some of our cells, as a molecular "key", that introduces its payload, and hijacks the cell through that RNA to make more copies of itself.
Let's not get into a discussion of reverse transcriptase, etc. right now.
Let's just destroy this motherfucker with powerful drugs, vaccines, whatever it takes.
I think it's beyond sick that some are looking for something "positive" out of the horrors CoVID-19 is giving us right now.

The first thing they always jump to with otherwise cool technology is the goddamned military. Why?
My immediate thought that came to my mind is that SETI could make great use of this broadband detector!

@freemo Then we are -- finally -- in agreement, then!!!! Phew!
@freemo The common cold is caused, in some cases, by the Coronavirus, but NOT CoVID-19.
The confusion, of course, is the media's fault. The same media that trashed the meaning of "Hacker" decades ago. Before the media got its paw prints on that word, "Hacker" has a very good connotation.
Then, it turned it into a prerogative, instead of using the more appropriate term, "cracker".
Same old story.
@freemo I have not had my coffee yet, so excuse me if my "wording" is not spot-on! :p
@freemo I did not say that. They are in the same family... does not mean that SARS causes the common cold!!!!
Stop spewing forth nonsense like a leftist! :p
