In my college dorm room I used to have a "quote board" on my wall—a white posterboard with some markers nearby—where my friends and I would write down funny or pithy quotes whenever they occurred. I continued that practice for a few different housing situations after that because it was always nice, when one of us was feeling down, to go read the board and get inspired or just have a laugh. These two quotes that came up today won't mean anything to anyone else or sound particularly profound, I suspect, but if I had a quote board handy today, I would add them to it.

"objectively beautiful"

"he is the personification of goodwill"

Perhaps I will hang a board in my office space. 🤔

I should probably clarify that the quotes we were adding were things we actually said to each other or overheard in the hall, not famous quotes from the Algonquin Round Table or something. Part of the charm of re-reading the board was remembering the context of the quote and the reactions to it.
