Not sure if other users experienced this, but I have been getting unusual text messages compared to my previous phones. I believe these are either generated by Modem manager or sent by my service provider. In them includes timestamps and my phone #. This leads me to be inclined to believe them to be associated with voicemails being left.

If anyone else has any other ideas, I'm all ears.

@lucifargundam i set up my new android phone and I noticed these style of messages under a weird phone number that has a +44 country code

Is it a pinephone with android or another phone with mobian?

-i was under the impression pine64 was based in UK, but wiki says it's founded in US and made in HK.

-mobian shouldn't (iirc) have any default settings that would lead you to get texts from UK. I will have to double-check later though.

@lucifargundam nonono, it's a xiaomi, sorry for not mentioning that. I thought I'd mention the thing I experienced because it seems similar to your experience

@MischievousTomato
I suspect that narrows it down to either your phone was originally distributed in UK, your isp is UK based, one of your apps is UK associated or your phone # is on a list somewhere.

Keep in mind I'm not a professional, nor do I pretend to have full certainty or backing supporting this.

@lucifargundam it could be a myriad of things... Funnily enough I'm in south america lol

@MischievousTomato
Yeah, without further information- I can't help narrow down the culprit. Though, I hope I at least was able to provide a footing for you to get started.

@lucifargundam i dont think I'll investigate this phenomenon unless it annoys me again
