so I keep thinking "I should recommend <x good somewhat old anime> to <friend>" then realising that that will likely end up being something they want to watch together most good anime is best experienced alone so you can stew on but maybe the fact that it's not the sort of thing you can sit down with your housemate and watch is part of why people just watch seasonal trash now
