do I care enough to try CP2077 again

I don't really expect it to run any better

@izaya
I still won't get over the "day 0 compatibility"...

>>Preorders
>>Launches on
>>Game struggles as all my desktop hardware is currently low-tier vr-compatible but cannot handle the workload anyway.

Mind you, I found an alternate way to play- but it was far from comfortable.

@lucifargundam I must admit it did *run* under Proton on release - or at least walk

shame it doesn't run at any sort of reasonable framerate on current hardware

If they used current technology rather than legacy APIs like DirectX it would've been a lot less of an issue but here we are

@izaya
I would be very interested in learning the background happenings, drama and decisions made in the final rendition of CP2077.

Eg.)
-How many people got pissed and why
-How many changes were made and what
-Who were a-holes in the project process and how

For as much time and money was put into the game- you would think it would have turned out better as a product. Gameplay experience aside.

That is unless, Keanu took up most of the funding. Which would be a B.S. move and would make me forever lose trust/respect for Proj Red.

@lucifargundam the people that love it love it, but I had the same issue as with the witcher 3: the gameplay isn't enjoyable enough to bother to play the game, investment in the story or not

their mild hostility towards linux has made sure I'll never bother to buy anything of theirs, though

@izaya
I personally have never met as much hostility on as I have with the makers of . The game runs fine on until you get to the menu and it refuses to move forward because of anticheat. I messaged them about it- only for them to say they will never support it.

I mean... Come on... Everything loaded up fine and alludes to (at least unintentionally) Linux compatibility. Why not increase your client base?

@lucifargundam @izaya just checking this post out to let ya know that "video horror society" game came out a few days ago in Early Access, its both similar to DBD and it supports EAC under proton on Linux. Maybe you will like it :P
