@niconiconi
Most of the IT people I currently work with don't know half of this- and actively work with it.
Am I the only one who pays attention???!!!!
@niconiconi
I know for a fact this tech is old because the company I currently work for has EoL this stuff internally already and had started transition a few years ago.
Ironically, they still use py2 instead of py3 because they don't want to pay anyone to rewrite everything. The few people who tried used a conversion script that broke everything anyway.
That being said, said tech is still expensive as demand is still low- typical consumers don't buy XDP to MIPI adapters or get excited over additional features in oscilloscopes they stole from other groups.
@lucifargundam This is a different XDP we are talking about. The XDP here is a Linux kernel framework for fast network transfers.
@niconiconi
It may be a different XDP but it still matches the arguments overall sentiment.
@lucifargundam This is just a mockery of the "your network is your net worth" cliche, which has become a meme in recent days. So far my version is the only one with a punchline about literal computer networks.
Seriously though, I think this knowledge is arcane and only known among those who work on big network backbones or related software. I had to search Hacker News and LWN for background to make this meme.
