you can fetishize tech all you want and put a chip in everything, but imo it just feels better to work with something physical, mechanical, and simple. maybe it’s not just about haptics or pure emotional attachment

had a thought earlier (talking about some things in sci-fi writing). imagine humans were capable of just thinking everything into their computerized brains. seems cool and all, but isn’t it also incredibly bleak? then, going a few steps further, if you were capable of just thinking anything you want into existence and having god-level control over the physical world (or what you perceive as such), doesn’t that open the door to psychosis?

even given such vast powers, i would choose to go “low-tech” just because i need that anchor to the concrete and material
