Here we go. Time for more #photos. Not too long ago I visited a historical aerodrome, a place filled with vintage #planes from the glider and propeller era that not only maintains a 4 building museum to the history of flight, but also has an airfield where they take some of these classic planes to the sky on weekends.

There’s plenty of material here, from gliders, to planes used in world war 1, barnstormer era and prop planes beyond. In spite of the rainy, overcast morning conditions in these mostly unlit buildings, I managed to get quite a bit under the lens, and I’ll start with the building that seemed a bit underappreciated in spite of all the simple but elegant examples of human ingenuity within. There are nowhere near as many photos of these as the motorcycles, so I will take this series a bit slower.

I suppose I should’ve made specific tags for this series, so I’ll do that here for the first one, #theflightseries, as well as a general photo tag for my own photos altogether from now on, #drybeer, and I’ll include it in later posts for easy reference.

@lucifargundam I wanted a name to associate with my photography, simple and direct, easy to remember when you want to share with a friend, and somehow nobody had claimed the url dry.beer yet at the time. I’m also fond of both dry cider and dry beer, both drinks which aren’t that ostentatious and where a little extra time and care is spent on making sure they hit the mark.

So it’s a good phrase, positive vibes to it, easy to remember, rolls off the tongue, and has a good analogy going for it related to how I think about what I do.
