Maybe it has to do with a lack of resources? Maybe it runs on a pi at a mc Donald's wifi connection?

@lucifargundam i mean for a project like this that cannot even afford a cheap vps, i'd rather stick with what i have

Perhaps they hoped to have a decentralized hosting so that no single vps would have it all? I dunno? 0-cost deployment with no overhead?

Perhaps they meant for the project to be picked up and abandoned at-will, thinking that many people would be interested and would carry the torch willy-nilly at a constant flow.
