They're new to making projects???
for a project so concerned about centralization, you would at least expect them to host a copy of their stuff on their own website

Maybe it has to do with a lack of resources? Maybe it runs on a pi at a mc Donald's wifi connection?
then i have concerns about the project

Perhaps they hoped to have a decentralized hosting so that no single vps would have it all? I dunno? 0-cost deployment with no overhead?
Perhaps they meant for the project to be picked up and abandoned at-will, thinking that many people would be interested and would carry the torch willy-nilly at a constant flow.
