We’ve reached the end of Hell Week 2. Updates have been less frequent but the current situation is:

I still don’t have a car. The place that screwed mine and the dealership i brought it to, who I trust to replace the transmission (even if its going to be a third party pull transmission sourced from elsewhere) are playing games about writing up a cost estimate and getting my car in for service. Afaik the transmission itself hasn’t even started shipping to them in this time. I’m trying to get hold of one again to get a rental. I’ve been as patient as I can be, and I’ve been depending on a family member’s vehicle to extend that patience. Theirs ran out a while back and I’m at the point where I need to have a vehicle until this shit is sorted.

It sounds like people are procrastinating. It doesn't take that long to get an estimate unless you're taking your time searching to save money.

@lucifargundam yeah, that’s the thing that’s got me bothered. This was according to the person who has to pay for the work, that the dealership themselves are not sending them a typed up estimate- and they had already given me an estimate with everything with the exception that they had added a reman transmission from them and hand written labor cost on estimate. that was last tues or wed when this started, and they would have little to change to that estimate to make it ready to pass over- and yet 2 days of trying to get it, this guy thinks they’re not taking it seriously- at the same time this same guy usually needs 2 phone calls to get hold of, and we’re now like a week from when i said ‘ok lets go with this transmission then, i need the work to start because i need a car’
