I remember a post somewhere here on Fedi where someone cited that actual permissible statements in ancient Roman congress involved things like 'i will rape your mouth' and 'i will fucking kill you' and it was apparently ok, but to truly cross the line in their circles were to accuse someone of trying to be an emperor (when it was frowned upon) or accusations of incest.

Unfortunately my search function isn't working as well as I would like to tax it.
