banning guns will fix everything because criminals care about what is legal and just wont use guns if they are banned. obviously.

Laws obviously don't prevent criminals from doing things that break the law. No law prevents all crime.
But gun laws CAN reduce the prevalence of many of the most deadly guns in our society. The fact that crimes committed with the use of machine guns are virtually nonexistent is a testament to the effectiveness of the gun laws that regulate fully automatic weapons ownership.
@johngove they really dont. full auto has been banned in the usa under NFA since the 80s. educate yourself.

Gun laws aren't about preventing crime in general.
