Family meals were important occasions that functioned for more than just eating. They were regular bonding times for everyone to reconnect after doing their own things.

There were never leftovers despite being so big a family. Because we grew up always being told to make more than enough for everyone. If you were hungry after hours, you had leftovers.

Nothing brings people together quite like food does.
