@nyx the sad truth is that hackernews and /g/ are as useful as each other and for all the wrong reasons in both cases
@nyx they both contain inordinate amounts of useful information from primary and secondary sources on obscure systems and they both have broadly working search functionality (hackernews via algolia and /g/ via desuarchive) but are otherwise both flooded with immense amounts of chaff that would be impossible to wade thru without said search functionality
@allison oh, yeah. this is part of why I check HN aside from like, masochism and when I just have an idle moment. every so often I find something cool on there
