@markrvickers you’re not overthinking. but if the internet has eroded privacy for just about everyone, why should a rich fuck be exempt? I get that celebrities pay a terrible privacy price for the fame they acquire but it doesn’t help society to exempt them from that price.
as for in particular, he’s about to release location data of twitter users to advertisers unless they pay for blue. @elonjet is way less intrusive than that

@Blank how did it go?
per your control comment, maybe it’s something you want to change, but I bet it’s often served you well too. maybe even makes it easier to roll with the punches when you need to

@JamesWaterhouse yes! more insight & conversation, less blast. got an intimate dinner party vibe going rather than rager (fun in a different way!) with cops about to shut down

mixed feelings for . pretty sad it could actually be the end of an era

I think this is probably the first time has come up against the power of workers over a company. in every other case he has been able to assert his will to keep them in line. but here he has a different workforce, the kind you hire management consultants to create. empowered and fiercely passionate. and his power play 5pm email spectacularly backfired.

@Myphatself seriously! you just reminded me that the game monopoly was made to show that it always ends up as a monopoly in real life!

anything we want (skiing, music, books) or need (healthcare) ends up with someone in the middle making money and eventually controlling the price

@mehdihasan great segment.

checks and balances aren’t working. we have radically unbalanced representation because the checks, the and particularly , have started making irrational decisions.

from what I remember, the only reason had not been curbed by was because there was not a mathematical way to determine bad . now there’s no plausible deniability that they’re even trying to be fair

this fiasco with and after the takedown brings up this enraging question: why does the average make so little money?

society clearly values artistic output. writers, musicians, comics, etc create content that is voraciously consumed. why does the staggering amount of money spent on things like books and music (a damn fortune by me!) end up in the hands of middlemen?

publishers and and making bank gaming the market sucks

GodDAMN that was awesome!!!! this makes my chest tight. so proud of what humanity can accomplish @Colarusso

huh. pleasantly surprised it was apparently boring

@Pwnallthethings well this is actually quite comforting. appreciate there’s a step in that’s ‘let’s talk about shit’ that’s between ‘ignore’ and ‘war’. regardless, it must be scary AF in right now
