This is very sad. I loved Lance in everything I saw him in (especially Fringe). >> BBC News - Lance Reddick, star of The Wire and John Wick, dies aged 60

Very helpful 2022 paper
"The Structuralist Mathematical Style : Bourbaki as a Case Study" looks at how structuralism emerged from the Bourbaki project from the mid 20th Century, and some of the early links to Category Theory which was also developing at the same time. Grothendieck and Eilenberg had been members of Bourbaki.

@cd_home @mariapopova @rachelmetz @Chanders Well that makes sense.
Nonetheless they would still have the power to process any posts made by their own users, for everyone who sees them.
@cd_home @mariapopova @rachelmetz @Chanders Well, yes, the people with accounts on the server in question would have signed up for it—but not all the people on other servers which federate with that server—except perhaps implicitly?
(And you're assuming the server is being open about it by putting it in the description, though I admit I'm not sure what their point in going to all the effort of using AI, but keeping it a secret, would be: perhaps research of some sort?)
@matthew_d_green well they say the medium is the message 😉
@Chanders @rachelmetz @mariapopova What would be stopping any server from using AI to mark as sensitive media that it determines to be (likely to be) explicit? Isn't each server responsible for it's own moderation—and therefore has the freedom to use AI if it so chooses? I've seen lots of media marked as sensitive, which wasn't (it's only blurry until you click on it, depending on your account settings).
