A cheap #FPGA can convert a standard SPI 4-wire interface into an SWD Programmer... I think 🤔 https://medium.com/@ly.lee/openocd-on-raspberry-pi-better-with-swd-on-spi-7dea9caeb590?source=friends_link&sk=df399bfd913d3e262447d28aa5af6b63
@lupyuen It's kinda a waste of a serial port, isn't it?
@lupyuen Nevermind, actually skimmed the article.
@Lwasserman Just think... Any gadget with an SPI port can become an SWD Programmer now... Laptops, phones, all kinds of microcontrollers too!
@lupyuen I hate to tell you this, but I haven't seen a computer with a true serial port for awhile now. I was excited because my motherboard has the holes for one, but no attached jack. One day I'm gonna get brave, and solder a dsub in myself...maybe.
@Lwasserman SPI is the new Serial Port 😀 Then there's bloated USB...
@lupyuen That said, it doesn't sound bad.
Woke up in the middle of the night and realised... SWD consists of only 3 bit sequences: 1️⃣ Read Register 2️⃣ Write Register 3️⃣ Reset... So why not connect the SPI port to an FPGA to trigger these SWD bit sequences? 🤔
