@lupyuen urgg, I should know better than to read the comments (although there are some good ones!)

I feel like Host & Device works fine for SPI, and extrapolating to HIDO and HODI works OK... although I admit my keyboard muscle memory had trouble typing it just then.

@projectgus "Device" sounds like an tricky term to use... If I need to write about nRF52 microcontroller connected to ST7789 display controller... Will people think that "Device" refers to the microcontroller? 🤔

@lupyuen good point, although if you call them the "SPI host" and the "SPI device" then it's a little less ambiguous. But you're right, can be unclear.

Host/device terminology works OK for USB (pre-Type C) which is why I think it could work for SPI. The analogy is similar - the USB host initiates all bus transactions and manages a bus shared among multiple devices.
