Although I have appreciated her content from time to time, the fact is that she quite openly broke China's Law and got off much milder than many anonymous "rebels" that use VPNs.

I think authorities "let her be" for much longer because of her mainly soft criticism of China itself, and her focus on DIY, at least initially. Could well be that her recent "coming out" was a step to far, perhaps the accumulation of tweets were no longer acceptable. Perhaps it was simply "reel in success"
