This is among the projects Muammar Gaddafi did to Libyans supplying 70% of fresh and clean water to all households in #Libya, the whole project cost $25 billion without any aid, loans or grants, it was the biggest man-made water project in #Sahara desert.
Important point on this project, you have seen many Africans online comment on anti-NATO sentiments especially now that there is war between #Ukraine and #Russia, this is among the reason, the first hit on this project was by NATO warplanes targeting Muammar Gaddafi loyalists in 2011, today it's almost nonexistent.
Don't be surprised when majority of Libyans are nostalgia of Gaddafi's authoritarian rule, they were sheltered that time though some freedoms were limited.
