I need a way to invite a user on #Threads to federate. I can imagine a process similar to how #bridgyfed does it: an account over there that sends invitations to users on demand from here, accompanied with a message explaining how to enable federation and the benefits of doing it. There are a number of technical challenges, but I wonder if anyone has tried doing it?
Better to focus on good quality fediverse content, for greater adoption
@citc let's say I've identified an interesting user (journalist) on threads. Making them federate would be their first experience of the fediverse. Given the usability hiccups of activitypub-based platforms, I do consider threads and blue sky to be valid ways to onboard about the philosophy of the fediverse. The idea being that sooner or later the genuine fediverse experience would have to catch up
