@MikeImBack @lisamelton there's a full-ish list of roles open with the Democrats here: https://democrats.org/take-action/work-with-us/
@thomasfuchs @beyondmachines1 in the process some of them do get filthy rich
@jamiemccarthy @nazgul I suppose you're all apple users, so you probably don't know what the Google equivalent keeps disconnecting unexpectedly. So, there is much room for improvement, and hopefully somebody from the hardware guys would arrive at the idea of an open standard
@johnaldis @NanoRaptor thanks for bothering to explain
The US Supreme Court majority’s recent decisions undermine the role of evidence, expertise and honesty in democracy. This takes the US to the level of countries that admittedly struggle with the application of rule of law.
I'm Bulgaria we've been struggling with such problems since the (incomplete) fall of totalitarianism and we know how the legal system is instrumentalised in state capture. Some specific examples? Popular elections for judges, prosecutors or other roles that require specialised expertise, lifetime appointments, unchecked political donations,...

The success of the campaign is made even more amazing by the fact that Mastodon does not use an algorithm to push posts in front of eyeballs. A post can only go “viral” if it is shared by people that the user knows, and then they share it to their network.

Congrats #MastodonForHarris on the fundraising numbers!
Let’s talk about next actions. Not everyone has a lot of money to give. But we do have time and energy and passion to volunteer.
I’ve been involved with enough campaigns over 2 decades to know that Democrats need more than money to win.
We win when we have enough volunteers to knock on doors and talk to voters each weekend.
We have 8 weekends before early voting starts.

With the #MastodonForHarris fundraiser approaching $300,000 (!), I thought I'd say a little about why I am going to keep it going, most likely all the way through Inauguration Day. 1/

@nazgul sorry, lost me with Buick SUV
@NanoRaptor What's with the ancient keyboard inscription?
@Synapsidont you don't need to care about servers. A search would find in all public communities (subreddits) across all servers/instances. Or maybe I don't understand your question?
@jann @dangillmor I think it's much less popular over here (in Europe)
This is pure cartel behavior: Reddit and Google have cut a deal that freezes out all other search engines from indexing Reddit, where volunteers do essentially all the work.
This should not be legal.
It is VITAL to replace Reddit, and it will take a global village to do it. If we don't, the cartel wins.

The whistle-blowing Twitter account was suspended by mods shortly after.

Vice President Harris watched President Biden’s address to the nation from Houston, Texas, where she is spending the night after visiting the city’s Emergency Operations Center to receive a briefing on the ongoing recovery efforts following Hurricane Beryl. Prior to departing Houston tomorrow, she will also deliver the keynote speech at the American Federation of Teachers’ 88th national convention. - White House
