Got a connection in Kiev, cant name source obviously as its a long term colleague from high school. He Says going outside has become dangerous. Lots of looting occurring, shootouts between different gangs (as over 20k guns were randomly given out) heard at night, lots of vandalism occurring. Goes to the local bazar and food stores (to get whatever he can get his hands on) with a handgun in his pocket. They didn’t use the first ticket out of Kiev in February, now him and his family are stuck there. Says that the hryvnia isn’t widely accepted anymore at small businesses, as it’s mostly a dead currency. USD is accepted favourable or jewelry. A couple of days ago he had to give $40 USD for two bags of potatoes and 1lb of beef.
