@Paulos_the_fog Well, the problem is, that our publications/news in the west haven't been giving us the truth about Ukraine vs Russia. NATO vowed at the end of the Cold War not to expand further east. Since the wall came down, NATO has been expanding. The Russian Federation kept warning NATO that this is unacceptable, but NATO kept expanding, until they started training an army in Ukraine to NATO standards. This was worrying to Russia - you can imagine that if Russia started training a 300 K army in either Canada or Mexico that the US would be alarmed as well, right?
So, Russia kept it's patience until the last straw was the expansion of the artillery attacks on the Donbass (which is majority Russian speaking, hence they wanted to be on their own after Ukraine criminalized the Russian language. At the same time Zelensky stated that Ukraine wanted NATO to install nuclear weapons on their territory.
So one can hardly blame Russia for taking action - Ukraine and NATO never enforced the Minks 1 or 2 agreements, using the interval 8 years to train and build up their NATO army in Ukraine! At the start of the Special Military Operation Ukraine had the largest military in Europe. Even though Ukraine outnumbered the Russian and Donbass milita at a 6-1 ratio, Russia has decimated it.
Unfortunately most westerners don't know the story - Russia is in the right in this one. Sorry. NATO has no business being an agressive attacking military - it was to be a defence organization! Most Canadians know shite about GeoPolitics, unfortunately.
Ms.Freeland our deputy prime minister is a Ukrainian. Her grandparents were Nazi's and her grandfather was in the waffen SS. The western part of Ukraine is very, very fascist. It was never cleaned post WW2.
