Absolutely agree as I've used both - However it seems that lately toot has been getting some updates recently. Don't know if they've improved the issues I had with toot or not, as I'm too happy with TUT to care at this point.

from what I understood, the maintainer of toot pushed an update to mainly show the project isn't dead. I think it did not applied patches or enhancements.
And you're right, once tut is well configured on the personal needs, it is so fast and such a great experience.
