When someone asks "What's your solution? What are you doing to make things better?" they don't seem to have the slightest clue what we've sacrificed in order to save lives, going on three years now.

@jessicawildfire Also: it's not our fucking job to stop pandemics. That's the government's job. Stopping pandemics is pretty much the textbook example of what governments are for, since individual action isn't sufficient. Things like pandemics are why we cede power over our lives to governments.
Many of us are individually doing everything we can, at great personal expense. But that can't possibly be enough.
Our fucking solution is for the fucking government to do its fucking job.

Incidentally, this is why I'm not an anarchist. Decentralized structures are good for many things (the Internet, social media, etc) but there are some things that need a centralized response. Preventing outbreaks of highly contagious diseases is one of them.
