“Man is not worried by real problems so much as by his imagined anxieties about real problems.” -Epictetus - Isn’t this the truth? Of course, there are real problems that must be solved. It takes effort to not worry unnecessarily, to prepare to solve a real problem you can take action on, and yet, that is less suffering than what worries bring. A professor said to my class once, you have to get off the merry go round of worry in your head. It has stuck with me.
