Last evening I was in the mood to play a story-based adventure game. During one of Steam's Next Fests I tried out a demo of Cats and the Other Lives and liked it a lot. A very lot. So I acquired it and then played it a fair bit.

I will continue playing soon. The storyline has a sad tone overall but it's interesting and there are a few comedic moments. Especially when a laser pointer is involved...

What other adventure games(or visual novel) you have played

@mur2501@qoto.org Recently? Or also in the (ancient) past? Because if the latter I have really played a lot of point and click adventure games.

If only recently, I've played Nine Witches: Family Disruption. It was alright, the repeated humor got a bit tiring near the end. I guess that was their shtick.

Also did a visual novel, Arcade Spirits. I did the path first without any romance, and it was fairly fun. Then I did all the other endings with romances for the achievements. That was quite lame and feeling very forced. Game's better without those silly relationships.

@trinsec
My fav visual novel series is Phoenix Wright (actually the entire Ace Attorney series).
Also all of the lucasarts Point & Clicks are very good, I personnaly like The Day of the Tentacle the most, as well as Grim Fandango.
The most recent point & click I played would be Thimbleweed park.

@mur2501@qoto.org I've read good things about Phoenix Wright, so might eventually pick it up somewhere in a bundle if it happens to pop up.

Love Day of the Tentacle as well, played the classic. I should replay that remake sometime. Grim Fandango simply couldn't lure me in. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis is one that I replay every few years, I have fond memories of playing it for the first time and it's a good story. The Syberia series is also good. Well, 1 and 2. The third one went 3D and I found it too awkward to play.

@trinsec
You can even play Phownix Wright on phone as it was made for Nintendo DS it naturally works good with touchscreen.
I think it is on both, Android & IOS.

Well I have never seen any Indiana Jones movie, though Syberia sounds interesting
